Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information the Modul app and Modul Pools collect, how it is used, and your rights as a user. We keep things simple: your data is used only to manage your pool project and communicate with you.

1 — Who We Are

Modul is operated by Modul Pools, a pool construction company serving Southern California. If you have questions about this policy, contact us at info@modulpools.com.

2 — Information We Collect

Information you provide:

Name and email address (account creation via Google or Apple Sign In)
Phone number (consultation request form)
Property address (construction agreement form)
Pool design preferences and selections made in the app
Signature captured electronically when signing a construction agreement

Information collected automatically:

Authentication tokens provided by Google or Apple when you sign in
Device type and operating system (used for app compatibility)
App session data (used to keep you logged in)

We do not collect precise location data, advertising identifiers, or browsing history.

3 — How We Use Your Information

To create and manage your Modul account
To display the real-time status of your pool construction project
To process your consultation request and contact you about your project
To generate and store your construction agreement
To provide you with project documents (permits, inspection reports, etc.)
To send transactional emails related to your account and project

We do not use your information for advertising or sell it to third parties.

4 — Third-Party Services

We use the following services to operate the app. Each has its own privacy policy.

Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage ( supabase.com/privacy )
Google Sign In — optional authentication method ( policies.google.com/privacy )
Apple Sign In — optional authentication method ( apple.com/legal/privacy )
Google Maps / Places API — address autocomplete in the contract form ( policies.google.com/privacy )
Resend — transactional email delivery ( resend.com/privacy )

Internally, we use Trello to manage project workflows. Your email address is used to link your project to your app account; your personal information is not otherwise shared with Trello or made visible outside of Modul Pools staff.

5 — Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely on Supabase infrastructure hosted in the United States. Access is restricted by row-level security policies — you can only access your own project data. We use HTTPS for all data in transit.

Your electronic signature and contract PDF are stored in a private Supabase Storage bucket accessible only to Modul Pools staff and you.

6 — Data Retention

We retain your account and project data for as long as your project is active and for a reasonable period afterward to fulfill any warranty, legal, or record-keeping requirements. You may request deletion of your account at any time (see Section 7).

7 — Your Rights

You may contact us at info@modulpools.com to:

Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
Correct inaccurate information
Request deletion of your account and associated personal data
Opt out of non-transactional communications

California residents (CCPA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of sale. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, email us at the address above.

8 — Children's Privacy

The Modul app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe we have done so, contact us and we will delete the information promptly.

9 — Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
